Cannes Lions has announced the jury presidents for the Creative Effectiveness Lions, Pharma Lions and Health & Wellness Lions jury.

The chief marketing officer of Airbnb Jonathon Mildenhall (top left) will lead 2017 Creative Effectiveness Lions Jury, while McCann Health’s ECD June Laffey (top right) and Serviceplan Health & Life’s creative partner Mike Rogers will look after the Pharma Lions and Health & Wellness Lions juries respectively.

Mildenhall was selected given his vast advertising experience. He began his career at McCann-Erickson in 1990 before later becoming Vice-President, Global Advertising Strategy and Content Excellence at Coca-Cola during an award-winning year. He’s particularly excited to lead the category and has revealed that he’s ‘honoured’ to oversee and judge creative work that also drives cultural change.

The Creative Effectiveness category assesses the creativity and business results of all campaigns entered. This year, the category has been divided into subcategories, which include Creative Effectiveness; Creative Effectiveness for Good; Creative Regional Effectiveness; Creative Global Effectiveness; Creative Longer-Term Effectiveness; and Creative Marketing Effectiveness and to see more information on who sits on the jury, click here.

Laffey on the other hand has been appointed jury president for the Pharma Lions.

Of this appointment, she says, “Heavy regulations, risk-averse thinking and a smorgasboard of other constraints mean that, in health, we have many challenges. Despite this, the opportunities for life–saving creativity have never been so huge.”

Rogers will lead the Health & Wellness Lions, which has introduced the new category, Health and Wellness Tech, to celebrate the increase in healthy lifestyle gadgets.

Rogers was part of the inaugural Health Lions jury and is excited to be back and experience what ‘winds of change’ have impacted the category.
