Fernando Carrion and Rodrigo Bistene, known as The Raccoons, have moved to FCB New York, taking the roles of senior copywriter and senior art director.
Previously, the pair were at VML, where they gathered particular acclaim for Proud Whopper, a 13 Cannes Lion-winning social experiment where Burger King visitors were given a choice between a regular whopper and a 'proud whopper', a rainbow-wrapped version of the same burger - after all, as the inner wrapping said, 'we are all the same inside'.
They said of the move, "in an ever-changing advertising industry like New York’s, creatives on the move are often allured by superficial factors and forget about what really matters: the people. Inspired work only comes from inspired teams, and that’s what we found here at FCB."
They also explained their duo name. "We are social creatures who like to work in groups. We appear to be harmless but we can turn pretty wild when an opportunity arises. But more than anything, we can easily find hidden food and fall asleep in unexpected places.”
