The One Club for Creativity celebrated its 44th Annual One Show Awards in New York’s Cipriani Wall Street.
On Wednesday night, 323 Pencils were awarded to winners from 30 countries, of which 92 Golds were distributed and one Green Pencil. Edible Six Pack Rings for Saltwater Brewery scooped up the Green Pencil, which honours work that is environmentally conscious.
Beyoncé’s Formation promo through PRETTYBIRD secured the Gold Cultural Driver Award, which champions ideas and activations that have impacted popular culture.
Of the win, the One Club’s CEO Kevin Swanepoel said, “Provocative and powerful, Formation – the linchpin of Beyoncé’s genre-bending Lemonade album – is more than a song or a music video. It’s a manifesto.”
Other Gold wins include INGO Stockholm’s The Swedish Number for Swedish Tourist Association which topped the Direct category; while Ogilvy New York’s The Refugee Nation for Amnesty International won Gold for Design; and Channel 4’s We’re the Superhumans scooped up Gold for Moving Image Craft.
