Production company Goodoil has announced the signing of comedy director Dave Wood for representation in Australia and New Zealand.
Wood has picked up awards at a number of festivals and shows including AWARD, AXIS, LIA, New York Festivals and British Arrows and, having spent time working in London, he now resides back in his native Australia.
Wood has a particular appetite for comedic storytelling and loves getting his hands on a strong premise. “There’s nothing better than a funny idea," Wood says, "it informs everything that comes after it. A well-handled character or moment should always serve the premise to make the idea funnier and more memorable.”
“Comedy directors of Dave’s ability only come along once in a very long while," adds Goodoil executive producer, Sam Long. "Dave’s Bo spot for Rexona and Geoffrey for Battersea are great examples of a director knowing their craft and how to get the most out of an idea. To say we’re excited about Dave joining the roster would be an understatement.”
Wood’s producer Lee Thomson will join him at Goodoil.
