Creative content studio Hornet has signed animation director and illustrator César Pelizer for global representation.

Brazilian native Pelizer taught himself illustration before moving to Argentina where he spent several years working for an animation studio. He later moved to London to take up a post at design-led motion studio weareseventeen.

Pelizer describes his style as graphic and primitive, and his work tends toward the humorously uncomfortable and emotionally abstract. Since joining Hornet he is hoping to integrate new technologies in virtual and augmented reality as well as creating fully-integrated campaigns, from branding to ads to design.

"Although Cesar’s worlds are minimal, it's not to be mistaken for simple or naive. I love how his storytelling is provoking and whimsical at the same time. In this dichotomy of his sensibilities, I find an incredible richness and unique voice," said Hana Shimizu, EP, Hornet. "We’re so excited to partner up with him at this stage of his career where his distinct voice adds a new dimension to our family of directors."
