As the UK's winter takes a chilly hold what better way to warm the cockles of your heart than with a nice bowl of steaming soup?
And, if you take part in or attend the annual Soup Off competition, then you can take comfort in the fact that you're also raising money for charity.
The London-based event, now in its twelfth year, brings talent from agencies, production and post production together in a fun competition to win the Golden Ladle for the best soup, awarded by a panel of judges; Coy Communications' Mark Denton; LBB's Laura Swinton, Danny Bayliss from JWT and frelance planner, Charley Massy.
The proceeds from the culinary competition will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital, with a fantastic £2,970 already raised for this year before the challenge has even begun. Each entrant pays £20 to enter, all donated to G.O.S.H, with proceeds from the Guest Beer on the day also donated.
To serve up some publicity for the event, the above film has been created and directed by Mickey Brooks. It features last year's Soup Off runner-up, Anomaly's Nicki Russell, as she enlists the help of a motley crew, including Brooks and Mike McKenna of TAG, Kevin Smith from Publicis and John Hodges, to create a soup good enough to beat 2017's winner, BBH's Tom Skinner, who has found fame and fortune with after his triumph.
Entrants to this year's Soup Off include, alongside Skinner and Russell, Leagus Delaney's Neil Dawson, Mad Ruffian's Amanda Jones, The&Partnership's Micky Tudor, M&C Saatchi's Justin Tindall and Tracy Stokes from Like Minded People, and many others.
If you would like to attend the 2018 Soup Off, it will take place on Monday 10th December at The Sutton Arms, 16 Great Sutton Street, EC1 from 1pm. If you can't make it but would like to donate to Great Ormond Street, you can visit the hospital's Just Giving page by clicking here.
