This wacky CSR campaign from AB InBev-owned beer brand, Harbin, sees a man's future self step in to save him from drinking and driving.
Created by BBH Shanghai and directed by Steven Chen through A Newlife Films, the 90-second spot opens on a young man's birthday party, amid much merriment and drink-downing. Three sheets to the wind later, he totters towards his car to head home, when all of a sudden, a stranger grabs his keys - plunging him into an imaginary journey into his future. There he is, slam-dunking the winning goal on the basketball court; rocking the stage as a lead singer of a band; even meeting the girl of his dreams. The spell is broken when the stranger, who turns out to be the man's future self, returns his car keys with a promise to wait for him in the future.
It's a slightly weird watch - at one point, the live-action scene randomly turns into 8-bit animation - but a refreshingly optimistic approach to an anti drink-driving message that steers clear of the usual tropes.
