Annex Films has signed award-winning wildlife director Mateo Willis for commercials and content worldwide.
Willis earned his international recognition as a filmmaker from his work on many landmark series for the BBC’s Natural History Unit, such as: Blue Planet 2, Planet Earth 2, Frozen Planet, Human Planet and Dynasties. He has been nominated numerous times for his cinematography, earning him two BAFTAs and two Emmy Awards.
Willis worked on nearly every episode of the revolutionary documentary series Planet Earth 2 as a director and cinematographer, filming incredible animal stories from around the planet.
Willis has become well-known within the wildlife industry for capturing some of the most iconic events from the last decade. His dedication towards getting the perfect shot during the filming for Netflix’s Our Planet is what made his footage notably the most iconic of the series. Since then, He has directed the lead episode of National Geographic’s Hostile Planet.
