Putting on a 'show' for the family is a Christmas tradition as well-established as putting a bet on when Dad will fall asleep on the sofa and perfecting the ultimate leftovers sandwich.
Combining this slice of childhood with the joy of circling the Argos catalogue is this grand and genial festive spot from The&Partnership and Outsider's James Rouse, following two sisters as they transform from cup-and-ball touting tricksters to sorcerers befitting the titles AbracaDaisy & The Incredible Lucy.
Indeed, it's in the humorous escalation of the pair's performance that much of the film's charm is drawn, as presents magically appear, sausage dogs become cocktail-sausage dogs and a living room is transformed into a grand theatre (handy for social distancing).
Backing the whole thing is Incredible, a NEW song from pop-pro Gary Barlow, eschewing the long-established law that all Xmas ads HAVE to be soundtracked by either a rerecording or revisiting of an 80s mixtape favorite.
The spot leads a 360 campaign which will also see Argos inviting the nation to create their own magic tricks for top prizes later this month. Enchanting.
