Caviar's Ollie Wolf Directs The Latest Music Video For Fabich "Hold On"
Ollie Wolf has created a hilarious tongue & cheek video for Island Record’s artist, Fabich’s new single ‘Hold On’, which shows that sometimes you can hold on a bit too hard.
The London-based producer made the jump from crafting chart toppers for the likes of Lyfe Jennings and Missy Elliott collaborator, Trina, to signing to Island Records as a solo artist. ‘Hold On’ which features vocals from Josh Barry (who recently won Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent 2017), has been building heavy momentum since its release last month.
Fabich explained: “For the music video, we wanted to do something fun and different. When we made the record, I didn’t want it to feel like a classic love song and that’s why I didn’t want to make a classic love song video. My team and I decided to contact Ollie Wolf at Caviar who has done some amazing and unique videos”.
Ollie adds: “I think most people have had relationships that they have struggled to let go of. So, I was intrigued to explore a hyperbolic version of that for Hold On. The absurdity of an ex literally not letting go made me laugh. And it was a super simple idea I knew we could have fun with.”
Ollie, who has worked with artists such as Boston Bun, Josef Salvat and Nao; confirms in this video his natural ability at being able to get such great performances out of his characters. Casting, which involved an over the top peek at a young couple struggling to break their relationship off cleanly, was vital. For this, Ollie turned to Cambridge Footlight alumni, Ed Coleman who added a great sense of comic timing and sensibility against the straighter foils of Sharea and Sam.
Shot on location in and around East London, the cast and crew have created a fun summertime take on how not to end a relationship. It leaves you wondering “Did I ever have an ex that bad, or maybe I was that ex?!”
