Editor Akiko Iwakawa Joins Cut + Run
Known for her work with visually-driven storytelling for TV spots and music videos, she joins from Final Cut.
Editor Akiko Iwakawa Joins Cut + Run

Akiko Iwakawa has joined Cut + Run's roster of editors. She's known for such TV spots as Nike's "Classic," AT&T's "Up & Up," Reebok's "Migration" and LG's "World of Steam," among others. She's also edited music videos for artists such as Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Bright Eyes and Depeche Mode. Most recently she was with Final Cut.
"I'm so pleased to have Akiko joining our worldwide Cut + Run family," says Rana Martin, Executive Producer of Cut + Run, New York. "Her work ethic, artist's approach and unique style are a perfect combination. She loves to edit and it shows."
Over the years, Iwakawa has collaborated closely with such directors as Patrick Daughters, Marco Brambilla, Chris Milk, Mehdi Norowzian, Chris Nelson, Stephanie Sednaoui, Anna Gaskell and the late Nagi Noda on inventive and thought-provoking projects for advertising, film and art exhibitions. The daughter of theater actors, she studied cinema at New York University. Her editing approach combines a passion for problem solving with an appreciation for visual art.
