Fackrell Goes Kaboom!
Director Matt Fackrell of "Yo Gabba Gabba" fame joins L.A.-based Kaboom and expands their roster.
Director Matt Fackrell Signs on to Kaboom

Kaboom Productions has signed Director Matt Fackrell. Fackrell's latest work includes episodes of the Nick Jr. TV show "Yo Gabba Gabba" and the new campaign for Stride 2.0 via JWT/Puerto Rico, "Cheerleader,""Janitor,""Johnny" and "Teeenager." Fackrell's work caught the attention of Kaboom Founder/EP Lauren Schwartz who was looking to make an addition to her roster.
"Matt's creative abilities are an ideal match for our work in both advertising and branded long-form projects," says Schwartz. "His work is fresh and original. He's articulate, incredibly funny and, equally important, a really nice person. We are thrilled to have him as part of our family."
As for his decision to join Kaboom, Fackrell explains, "I wanted to find a production company that has multifaceted creative reach rooted in advertising and a hands-on approach to developing new projects with directors. Under Lauren's leadership, Kaboom has a team focus and inclusiveness that is infectious and exciting."
Fackrell's humor and directing acumen was recognized by SHOOT's New Directors Showcase. Whether in episodic television or commercials, his work reflects an odd outlook on life and the offbeat ways people react to almost otherworldly situations.
Growing up in a small town with only two TV channels, Fackrell's imagination wandered quite a bit. His dad would create fun by telling strange tall tales. His family couldn't afford a video camera, so for years he and his twin brother created radio plays with an old dual cassette player. These stories were filled with strange characters, creatures, talking food, aliens and other odd creations. Frackrell went on to pursue a Masters from the Art Center College of Design, then went on to write and direct episodes of "Yo Gabba Gabba."
Fackrell is currently gearing up to direct more episodes of "Yo Gabba Gabba," and is developing a episodic series with his twin brother.
