Directed by Justyna Obasi through ANORAK, German haircare brand Guhl’s new spot Genuinely Close captures usually unseen moments of vulnerability intended to evoke the sense of trust between the products and their users.
Particularly intimate scenes feature tender moments between a mother and child, a young couple embracing and a woman gently washing the hair of an elderly man as they quietly sing along to Haddaway’s What is Love.
Obasi’s use of natural lighting, close up shots and representation of real bodies contribute to a spot that feels effortlessly authentic and incredibly human.
