powered byBack in November last year, before the 'rona' rose anxieties to unprecedented levels, SMUGGLER director Samantha Scaffidi justifiably raised our tensions with an incredible PSA for charity RAINN.
Set in the waiting room at a hospital, the film tracks the endless delay in offering a young woman a forensic examination; the intensity rising with every passing second.
Drawing out an incredible performance, and managing the pace and acuteness of the situation with aplomb, Scaffidi's directorial skills were rightly awarded a Gold at this year's YDA.
We caught up with Scaffidi whilst in lockdown conditions to discuss how her experience in front of the camera helped guide her hand behind it.
