Stunts. Lighting setups. Days when the golf is just too good to miss. Acting doubles have to put up with a lot of nonsense to help make the stars they resemble look good.
It's nice, therefore, that the stand-in for Taika Waititi in this fun film for Tourism New Zealand gets to have a bit of a holiday (plus some front-facing screen time) as he steps into the fray whilst the actor/director shoots the latest series of Our Flag Means Death.
Written and directed by Jackie van Beek, who also does a fine job whilst featuring as herself, this enjoyably reflexive film not only proves the No Place Like It On Earth title by showcasing the sights of Rotorua, Mount Tarawera, Kaikōura, and Auckland, it also give us a good chuckle whilst doing it.
