Louisville artist and animator Jordan Speer’s teams with production companies Encyclopedia Pictura, End Cue and Nice Try for his latest animated masterpiece.
The surreal canine space fantasy Sunbelly tells the story of a space-faring dog (in a dog-shaped spacecraft) whose travels bring her to the surface of a seemingly dead planet. This leads to a dangerous encounter with a weird robotic insect and the discovery of her own kind’s forgotten history.
The story is bizarre and sometimes baffling, but the exquisite, psychedelic animation accompanied by a magnificent score by Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith make this a work of magnitude and a feast for the eyes, ears and soul.
