During four days of talks and presentations which included insight from Vicki Maguire, Dave Dye, Vaughan Arnell and this year's Sharks president, Mark Denton, winners from the UK, Ireland, USA, France, Belgium, Thailand, Canada, Australia, and a host of other countries, were announced as the proud owners of the shark head trophy.

The Grand Prix for 2019 was awarded to AMV BBDO London for Libresse Viva La VulvaAMV also picked up Agency of the Year, while Irish Agency of the Year went to Chemistry.

In the Film category, two golds were awarded, to BBDO New York for AT&T Train and to AMV BBDO, again for Libresse Viva La Vulva.

The Film Craft jury awarded 16 golds which included Droga5, Furlined and Final Cut all winning for The New York Times The Truth is Worth It campaign. Both ENGINE and Riff Raff picked up metal for Women’s Aid The Unedited Truth, while two trophies went to Missing Link films for Philips’ Shouting Men.

The newly launched Animation jury awarded five golds to BBDO New York for AT&T, Nexus won two for Cheerios’ It’s All Family and Fender’s The Mystical Journey of Jimmy Page's '59 Telecaster, as did Biscuit who won two for Sipsmith’s We Make Gin Not Compromises.

In the Best New awards, Best New Director went to Aaron Dunleavy from Hoi Polloi for Alfie, Best New Grader to Katie Dymmock at Coffee&TV and Thomas Mangham at The Mill. Best New DOP to Tom German at Aspect, Best New Editor to John Cutler at Motherland, Best New Music Composer to Austin Ray, and Best New Sound Designer to Simon Bird and Damien Molony at Windmill Lane.

BBDO won Network of the Year. Stink was crowned Production Company of the Year, and Motherland were Irish Production Company of the Year, while Final Cut won Edit House of the Year.

"The Sharks Festival of Creativity is a truly unique experience," said Mark Denton. "It wasn’t just about smiles, the creative work on show was stunning, including two of the best short films that I’ve ever seen. The talks were equally impressive, and the Sharks is definitely the friendliest creative festival in the world with loads of laughter and without even the merest hint of politics or bitterness."
