Madonna calls for gun control in shocking new promo

Madonna has delivered a ‘wake-up call’ on gun violence in the form of a shocking promo for God Control, the latest single from her Madame X album. 

The hyper-violent, stylised video, directed by Jonas Akerlund, tracks backwards from the bloody aftermath of a mass shooting in a nightclub, cutting between scenes of a children's choir singing at a funeral, modern-day protests against the NRA, glitzy partygoers at the disco and Madonna herself, in the guise of her alter ego Madame X, tapping out the lyrics on an old-fashioned typewriter. 

“I want to draw attention through my platform as an artist to a problem in America that is out of control and is taking the lives of innocent people,” Madonna said in a statement. “This crisis can end if our legislators act to change the laws that fail to protect us all."
