Roberts trained to be a dancer for most of her life before realising that her obsession with Windows Movie Maker and creating powerpoint slideshows to music as a youngster would steer her into a career behind the camera as opposed to in front of it.

Whilst studying at Ravensbourne University, Beth Roberts interned at various companies before working at Vice, Buzzfeed, as an assistant editor at Marshall Street Editors, and her last port of call was as in-house editor at Agile Films before joining the Nomad editing roster.

Roberts was recently nominated at the Kinsale Shark Awards for Best Editing which has been one of her career highlights to date. She says "Being nominated for best editing at Kinsale Shark Awards kind of blew my mind, as did assisting Oscar-nominated and Bafta-winning editor, Jinx Godfrey, in the past. My most recent career highlight definitely is being signed to Nomad. Having that support and having someone else believe in who I am and who I’m trying to be as an editor, it feels like a huge win. I’m honoured to be a part of their fantastic roster and I’m just really excited to have the opportunity to show people what I’m really made of”.

Nomad London Managing Director Liv Lawton, is equally enthusiastic and commented “We’re thrilled to have Beth join our growing roster of editors. She has an amazing talent and has such a powerful and emotive way of editing. Beth has such energy about her and it’s clear to see that she has a real passion for her craft. We’re incredibly excited to have her on board”.

Roberts recent work includes Adidas Messi, OnePlus Earbuds, Eli Brown’s Trouble music video and a Grief Encounter spot, directed by Luke Brookner at Sticker. She says “I would say the Grief Encounter spot is one of favourites because it was such an important story to be told and I was honoured that Luke asked me to be the one to help tell it”.

Roberts is really driven by music and with her dancing background commented “My approach for editing comes from rhythm and pacing and my obsession with movement and how things feel to watch. I think if you can move somebody with a piece you’ve created, the story you are telling becomes more memorable , so that’s always my aim".

Self-described “super-outgoing, ambitious and a little bit bonkers” Beth has already made a big impression on fellow Nomad’s James Norris and Kath Sawszak-Pierce.

Editor/Partner Norris says "I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Beth to Nomad London. It’s a joy to watch her beautifully edited, well-crafted work, films that stand out and display a true and deep talent for editing.”

Sawszak-Pierce added “I’m over the moon to be working with Beth again, this time as an editor. I spotted her talent when she was an assistant and I know she is going to have an incredible career ahead of her here at Nomad. Beth has an effervescent, loveable personality…let the fun commence!”
