Object & Animal signs Keith McCarthy to UK & US rosters
McCarthy is an instinctively visual storyteller with a uniquely wry and cinematic style.
Production company Object & Animal announce the arrival of Keith McCarthy to their UK & US rosters.
With a background in screenwriting and as a Senior Creative and Director at Channel 4’s multiple award winning in-house agency, 4Creative, McCarthy is without doubt a savvy, experienced and highly regarded Director.
An instinctively visual storyteller with a uniquely wry and cinematic style, it’s unsurprising that McCarthy has worked with iconic and distinctive brands like Nike, VW, Subaru, adidas, Coca-Cola and Channel 4.
Working seamlessly across multiple genres, McCarthy’s work has been recognised by BAFTA, D&AD, British Arrows and Cannes Lions; demonstrating he’s as comfortable with action and drama as he is with comedy and doc filmmaking. His experience as a writer without doubt influencing his strong narrative voice and finely tuned sense of comic timing.
“Having Keith join O&A brings me so much joy. Not only is he a superb filmmaker, he’s generous and humble too. The two of us started out as runners at the same time, so watching him go from craft to craft and strength to strength, to finally have him here, reinforcing our unique and extraordinary roster of narrative filmmakers is something we’re all hugely excited about and can’t wait to see what he does next.” said Dom Thomas, founding partner Object & Animal.
“Even though Dom told me off whilst we were runners for not knowing how to burn a DVD, I’ve forgiven him. Partly because he’s actually a very kind, gentle and wise soul. But mainly because he, and the rest of O&A family, care. Not about burning DVDs! About the creative process, about new ideas, about nurturing and sustaining talent and innovation. O&A curate an atmosphere that allows people and ideas to grow, to flourish. Always looking forward. Always inspired. I absolutely love that. It’s a vibe that’s evident as soon as you open the door. And when that door opened for me, I leapt through.” adds Keith McCarthy, Director, Object & Animal.
