Pictures in a Row Adds Roger Hunt as EP, Signs DarkFibre

Commercial production studio Pictures in a Row announced that Roger Hunt has joined the company as Executive Producer. In addition, Pictures in a Row has added directing duo DarkFibre to its growing roster of directors.
 
"Roger is the right person to lead Pictures in a Row's directorial roster, production, and sales teams as we further develop the company," says Peter Lang, Founder of Pictures in a Row.  "He has the brains and passion and heart to help us forge new and interesting possibilities for everyone here."
 
As Executive Producer, Hunt brings over 25 years of production expertise to Pictures in a Row from companies including Tony Kaye Films, The End, Inc. and New Reality, where he's worked with such directors as Tony Kaye, Michael Mann, Zack Snyder and Jaume Collet Serra. Hunt will oversee production, working with Pictures in a Row's roster of directors, including Lang, Marc Silver, Bryan Barber, Margaret Malandruccolo, Jason House and now DarkFibre.

Roger Hunt, a seasoned production executive, has joined as EP.

DarkFibre, a name taken from the term for the latent potential of unused fiber-optic cable, consists of the Oscar-shortlisted and critically acclaimed film, commercial and music video directing duo of Ishbel Whitaker and Marc Hawker. The two share a backgrounds in the arts, architecture and a myriad of film forms, not to mention stints as Creative Directors at BBH.
 
They've been named "Hot Shot" directors by Shots, and their have been sought out by brands including Levi's, Renault, Channel 4 and Partnership for a Drug Free America.  "Va Va Voom," their UK Renault Clio ad featuring Rihanna and Dita Von Teese, was called "Britain's Sexiest TV Ad Ever" by The News of the World.  And "Unsubscribe," DarkFibre's campaign for Amnesty International UK (see "Waiting for the Guards," "Electrocuting Man" and "The Stuff of Life"), was the charity's most successful campaign ever, and the film became YouTube's "Most Watched" video two days in a row.
 
Recently, DarkFibre directed a beautifully compelling video for the band Boxer Rebellion to rave reviews in GQ. Award-winning producers of "Rize," the duo has also collaborated with The KLF, David LaChapelle, David Arnold, Adam Freeland, The Orb, Tomato and Zaha Hadid.

It's most recent project is the online film "Unwatchable," which makes a powerful statement about the atrocities being committed in the Congo every day over "blood minerals" used in various electronic products worldwide.  The trade of these minerals fuels the indiscriminate use of rape and murder as a weapon of war. In other Pictures in a Row news, John Buckley has also joined the company as its in-house head of West Coast Sales. Buckley's background includes sales at companies such as Skunk, Independent Media, Cut + Run and Asche & Spencer, as well as many other independent clients.
