The Manchester City manager and footie philosopher appears alongside top players to promote Puma's zingy yellow Spark Pack, comprising the new Future 5.1 and the ONE 5.1 boots.
Created by French agency LaFourmi and directed by Sharif Abdel Mawla, through Partizan Paris, The Spark, appears at first to be taking itself a little too seriously.
Opening with wide-eyed players mesmerised by images of the boots, it outlines the spark of energy and ambition – along with footwear powered by some magic electrickery – that turns new footballers into champions.
Gradually the spot turns a tad zany, and when we reach a man who – literally – has footballs on the brain, it’s clear we’re heading more towards the whacky end of the pitch. Things get meta when Guardiola, who signed as Puma's brand ambassador last summer, has to get rather firm with a member of the film crew who dares to suggest the ad is getting a 'bit too much' .
