This powerful short film, directed by Felipe Gómez Aparicio through Primo Content, celebrates 25 years of the Ronald McDonald foundation’s work in Spain, which provides homes near hospitals for families with children undergoing medical treatment.
Through emotive and cinematic scenes, Captain Olson tells the story of two inseparable brothers, Pedro and Nacho, who live in a provincial Spanish town. The boys are distraught when Nacho becomes ill and has to travel far away for treatment, but they continue to use walkie talkies to communicate until the family are reunited at the hospital's Ronald McDonald house.
Aparicio's ability to focus in on small, human moments, combined with emotional performances from the young actors make the film especially touching. The campaign is encompassed by the message, “A united family is a stronger child”, stressing the importance of the charity’s work in keeping families together.
