Director John S. Park’s cinematic visual technique and innovative storytelling often blends photo-real VFX with epic live-action.

Well versed in both narrative and documentary disciplines, Park brings a distinctive flair for art direction, styling, music, and casting.

“We are big fans of John’s body of work, and are thrilled to have him on board,” said Buddy Brakha, EP, RSA Films USA. “He’s a filmmaker in the truest sense, telling entertaining and personal stories in innovative ways, with a deep understanding of cinematic language that makes him a very original voice for commercials, branded entertainment and immersive films.”

Park spent his formative years in Los Angeles where he earned his degree from UCLA and studied Film at Art Center School of Design. He is part of the Korean New Wave of cinema seen most notably in his ability to blend the worlds of East and West and traverse cinematic genres with ease. His cinematic range is illustrated in Samsung What Does Your Mind See (winner of the Grand Prix at Spikes Asia and Cannes Lion Gold), which features intimate portraits of sight impaired people capturing their sensory experiences on camera; while Hyundai A Message to Space (winner at Cannes Lions, One Show, and Spikes Asia) is a blockbuster-styled film which became a viral hit and the second most watched car commercial on YouTube for 2015.

“I am delighted to be part of a team with a great tradition of producers and auteurs,” John said. “I look forward to new opportunities and delivering my best work for this extraordinary company and its clients; together we’ll make an impact in this exciting new decade for our industry.”

Park is currently prepping two global campaigns for multinational brands and has a sci-fi feature film in development.
