Emotional support charity Samaritans has partnered with Brighton & Hove Albion FC as part of the Premier League’s Together Against Suicide campaign.
Created and produced by Be the Fox Brighton, the campaign's aim is to speak directly to football fans, who are not always the easiest group to get to open up about mental health.
The film, directed by Witness, uses the rituals of match day to tell a deeper story about friendship, vulnerability and the silence that often surrounds men’s struggles. Featuring two friends, one of whom is obviously struggling, and who chants his internal feelings as the crowd erupts, the two-minute spot is a touching and important message that a problem shared is a problem halved.
The spot was debuted yesterday and was viewed online more than a million times in the first few hours, and has also been picked up by presenters Roman Kemp and Vernon Kay on their UK radio shows.
