Stink Signs Director Will Mayer

Award-winning global production company Stink Films announces the signing of director Will Mayer for global representation. One of the most awarded production companies in the world, Stink Films is home to a diverse international roster of talent including Eliot Rausch, Nicolas Winding Refn, Nacho Gayan, and Lauren Caris Cohan.

Mayer’s background in documentary filmmaking imbues his work with a sense of authenticity and human connection. He says, “What I aim for above everything is emotion and honesty.” A recent collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy Portland for Samsung tells the story of Russell Westbrook and the community that drove him to become MVP of the NBA this year. The piece was a Creativity Editor’s Pick and called “the perfect ad” by Mashable.

Mayer began directing for Vans at the age of 14, traveling the world with their professional snowboarders, skaters and surfers while still in high school. Through his work with Vans, Mayer met Stink Films director Eliot Rausch, who introduced him to commercial directing and became his mentor.

Now 23, Mayer is based in Los Angeles and has created work for clients including Vans, Google, Gatorade, Samsung, Skoda, Under Armour, and more. He was formerly represented by B-Reel.

He is currently in post production on his first feature length project, a documentary on Olympic snowboarder Shaun White that will be released this winter. The film follows Shaun both on the mountain and off in the year leading up to the Pyeong Chang 2018 Winter Games, as he grapples with his sense of identity and the prospect of his snowboarding career ending. The film is co-wriaen by Mayer and Eliot Rausch.
