Directing duo The Reids have launched this black-and-white short film through Anonymous Content for clothing brand Hicks, titled BLINDERS, which was shot entirely on the iPhone.

The film is a simple yet poetic documentary-style story following a man around the busy streets of London. He wears custom made Hicks blinders, like a horse, so as to maintain focus without being distracted by his chaotic surroundings.

The directors splice stylish, monochrome footage of the character against London’s gritty landscape with shots from the protagonist’s own perspective, portraying his journey before arriving at a surreal scene with a path leading towards a heavenly sky - the ultimate reward for staying focussed on his journey.

"We wanted to present the message of “focus on your own path” in as visual a way as possible, without it becoming too belaboured or preachy" explains the filmmakers, "so we had a pair of human horse blinders made and then shot our protagonist walking through the bustle of London, aware of what was going on around him but ignoring the noise and moving inexorably forward. He eventually arrives at an impossible London street that leads to a dramatic nature scene - the divination and peace found in the knowledge he’s going his own route towards his own goals in his own time.
