Let's face it, if there's a recipe for popular Super Bowl spots it probably looks something like: 'animals + fun song + zany = top spot'.
However, knowing the recipe and getting the ingredients right are two different things, as demonstrated wonderfully by the incredibly animated animals, inspired 'zany' direction and ace choice of Salt-n-Pepa classic in this spot for Frito-Lay.
Following an explorer as she navigates the wilderness, Push It soon turns into a beat-boxing free-for-all, with a handful of animals serenading the scene after chomping on a dropped snack.
From its Budweiser Frogs-reference opening to the joyous revelation of our lead singer, Goodby Silverstein & Partners' spot makes great use of MJZ director Tom Kuntz's skills with the surreal, alongside the outstanding photo-realistic work on the creatures from VFX outfit, Untold Studios.
