Director Meeto has collaborated for a second time with artist A Kind of Man for this two-track story.

And he has been able to unleash his full creative range on a piece that fully reflects his filmic vision.

This coming-of-age tale is about a child moving into adulthood, simultaneously it is a story of a father letting go of his son.

Meeto wrote, directed and edited both films. He says “This whole classic tale is wrapped in a rather acidic universe and takes place in an undefined eastern block-type location, which you can feel. The boy feels trapped inside himself, and in his relationship with his father.

The ending is somewhat atypical, with a twist. It has always been important that music and pictures play together and create a dynamic for each other. The cast consists of Viola Dasseville, Brian and Frederik Lentz who are a real father-and-son. It gives a pretty amazing dynamic to the father-son relationship - which I'm totally crazy about. It really shines through that they have relationships with each other in reality.

The videos are shot on 16mm Anamorphic as a fairly atypical cinematic format, which gives the videos a very special texture and format. I think that was the right choice, and the stories fit in exactly as I had hoped.”
