Arni & Kinski, the Icelandic duo known for their visually rich, dramatic and often avant-garde photographic and motion picture work, have joined the roster of Wondros, the strategic consultancy and media production company.

“We at Wondros have long admired the rare genius of Arni & Kinski.  Their evocative story telling augmented by compelling visuals has made them masters at their craft.  Yet it was only when I met Arni & Kinski that I fully understood the breadth of their vision, their humanity and their passion to express themselves in commercials and music videos as well as in their feature debut 'War is Over,' which we are also focusing on. We are dedicated to diversifying the careers of our directors and feel Arni & Kinski are an amazing addition to our roster.  It is an honor to welcome them into our collective.” Anne-Marie Mackay Chief Creative Officer.

Arni & Kinski began creating together in the early 90’s and quickly forged a name for themselves.  Since the beginning, their collaboration has centered around film projects as well as music endeavors.  Early film projects included documentaries, music videos, graphic design, photography and also working as creatives at advertising agencies in Iceland.  While making their first imprints down a path of filmmaking together, they also rose to prominence as founding members of the music-film collective GusGus.  Their short film “Pleasure” was released in connection with the group’s debut album of the same name.  This led to GusGus embarking on worldwide tours, featuring visuals created by Arni & Kinski, and the release of two more acclaimed albums, 1997’s Polydistortion and 1999’s This is Normal.

Arni & Kinski moved further into visual media, developing a motion picture style that is marked by luxurious lighting and camera movement and skilled manipulation of time.  They have directed highly-praised music videos for artists including Beth Orton, Florence + the Machine, Snow Patrol, Placebo, Iggy Pop, Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan and fellow Icelanders Jonsi and Sigur Ros.  Their collaborations with Sigur Ros, in particular have received numerous honors, with the video for “Vidrar vel til loftarasa” being listed at number 9 on NME’s list of the 100 Greatest Music Videos of all time.  In 2010, New York gallery Honey Space exhibited Arni & Kinski’s still photography collaborations with Jonsi, and their music video work with Sigur Ros and Jonsi were featured in the 2012 “Spectacle” exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, OH.

The duo’s commercial experience includes work for such brands as Acura, Cadillac, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Macy’s, Old Navy, JCPenney, Sealy, US Army, John Hancock, Budweiser, Coors, Milk and Dentyne, among many others.  Their 2002 spot for Levi’s “Kiss” was featured in Shots, Shoot, and Campaign Screen, to name a few and their work for GE was awarded Silver The New York Addy Awards.

Currently, Arni & Kinski are writing their first feature, principal photography beginning in late summer of 2014

“We feel honored and privileged to work alongside such amazing filmmakers and true gentlemen.  Without a doubt, we will create truly magnificent work together.” Gina Zapata, Executive Producer.

"There was a heartfelt connection with the people of Wondros that originally inspired us to join the company. The great diversity of exciting talent and the overall vision of Wondros as a collective is something we are very proud to be a part of." Arni & Kinski.
