As the countdown continues towards the Young Director Award extended deadline of June 15, this year's Jury Chairman continues his chats with former YDA winners.
This time Bartoletti talks to Salomon Ligthelm. Ligthelm picked up a trio of YDA trophies in 2017; a gold in Music Video, North America for Daughter's Medicine while Young Fathers' Mr Martyr and Never Idle for Valvoline each garnered a silver Screen Award in the Short Film, North America and Broadcast, North America categories respectively [all below].
Ligthelm has gone on to helm a series of bold, creative commercials for, among others, adidas, Cerveza Victoria and Lexus, and here discusses his career, his approach to directing and the impact of his YDA wins.
