AICP and AICE Announce Merger
Post and production organisations combine as of 2018 in response to industries becoming increasingly blurred.
US organisations, the Association of Independent Commerical Producers (AICP) and the AICE, which was set up to serve the post industry, have decided to combine under the AICP name from the start of 2018.
The main reason behind the merger is because of the current blurring of lines between the production and post industries.
Former AICE executive director Rachelle Madden (pictured top right) will assume the title of VP, Post Production and Digital Production Affairs at the AICP, where she will be required to lead the organisation’s post production offerings and lead the post production council. She will join current AICP President/CEO Matt Miller (also pictured).
“There are many reasons why we moved forward on this merger, and most of them involve amplifying the voice of the post production industry by combining our interests and advocacy with those of AICP members,” says Madden. “We now become part of a much larger group, which gives us a strength in numbers we didn’t have before while adding critical post production perspectives to key discussions about business practices and industry trends.”
The newly-bolstered AICP will continue to advocate independent production and post companies with resources between the bodies will be compiled. Former AICE members will be able to enjoy AICP benefits from 2018, some of which include access to the Health Benefits Plan, legal advice and other industry resources.
