Paris production company Troublemakers.tv has signed animation directing duo Luca & Sinem and live action director Bernie Roux to its roster for commercial representation.
Luca Schenato and Sinem Vardarli both studied design and animation in Milan and started collaborating in 2005. With a directing style that mixes 3D and 2D highly stylised animation, their work has been commissioned by commercial clients including Oreo and Ing Bank. Their critically-acclaimed short films Fingers Tale and The Brave Heart have screened at festivals worldwide such as Oscar-qualified Atlanta Film Festival, Edinburgh, Siggraph Asia, Anima Mundi and shortlisted at British Animation Awards.
South African native Roux, meanwhile, started off as a traditional animator and has garnered more than 20 years' experience in the film and animation industry. His most recent awards include a bronze Cannes Lion for film, a Silver Clio and a wood Pencil at the D&AD Awards. He has lived and worked around the globe, from Johannesburg to Moscow, Auckland to Paris, London to Stockholm, Prague to New York.
