Typical Parisian arrogant spirit (their words, not ours) was the main driving force behind French rock band The Parisians’ decision to take over your iTunes screen saver.
In order to boost sales of the band’s EP, DDB Paris created Cover Takeover. By downloading the collection of 18 ‘album covers’ specially designed by the agency from The Parisians website and dragging them into their iTunes, fans will see them appear as part of the tiled screen saver whenever their computer is inactive. The twist is that the covers aren’t your standard moody-black-and-white shot-of-band-standing-in-an-alley-and-smoking. Instead they’re covered with abusive slurs against the neighbouring albums that randomly appear in the mosaic. Our favourite is, “Let’s hope this band [arrows points to the right] won’t give a charity concert. Those people are suffering enough already.”
