With less than two weeks to go until the Premier League kicks off again, NBC has released this hilarious short to promote its coverage of the English game this season.

The film introduces Jason Sudeikis as brash Texas-born coach Ted Lasso, who has just been installed as the new manager at North London club Tottenham Hotspur. Taking us in behind closed doors we get an idea of how he's settling in to his new role on the other side of the Atlantic, where things couldn't quite be more different.

Cutting in and out of training sessions, press conferences and solo interviews, we learn that despite not quite grasping the concept of the English game having to accept that there will be ties, no play-offs and the fact that the players can't use their hands, Lasso is a resiliant man and intends on sticking with his challenge - until he is sacked via text, that is.

The short film is currently doing the rounds online and lines up the broadcaster's coverage of the top flight of the English game, kicking off on Saturday 17 August. This shorter promo was also released as part of the campaign and also features Spurs.
