This week has been a slightly quiet one (perhaps it’s because the bank holiday weekend is upon us in the UK) but there were still three fabulous spots well worth the coveted Hot Shot seal of approval.

These three campaigns were very different in content – one took action to rid the world of Monday morning blues, another was an impressive music promo and the other presented two of our favourite TV series characters (the legendary Heisenberg and Jesse from Breaking Bad) in a new and unusual environment.

Feeling electric

This latest music promo directed by Edward John Drake for Austrian electro duo Klangkarussell (Sound Carousel) provides an impressive nine minutes of entertainment. The single-shot Stedicam video is full of religious iconography and follows a protagonist through a South London council estate at dawn as he meets a series of weird and unusual characters.

If you like what you see, make sure you check out our new director's profile on Drake in upcoming shots 152.

Happy Monday

For most people, even those that love their job, heading back to the office after a wonderful weekend puts a little downer on their mood. But have no fear; Axe is here to save the day. A two spot campaign, Monday; Wednesday, for the men’s toiletry brand from BBH London was created to remind us that the week is there to be owned and enjoyed. Produced by RIFF RAFF Films and directed by Jonas & François, the campaign also takes a look at Wednesday – the mid-way through the week day that often doesn’t get the attention it deserves from people.

Bad Pawn

Breaking Bad fans in their millions across the world are on tenterhooks waiting patiently for the show’s spin off Better Call Saul. However, a comical spot has been released starring the show’s lead actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul which is offering them some relief.

Created to celebrate Audi's sponsorship of the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards, Breaking Bad with Barely Legal Pawn places the mysterious duo in a pawn shop where they serve actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

In fact, all three actors have won Emmys themselves, making them the perfect stars for the commercial.

Directed and written by Paulilu (Paul W. Downs & Lucia Aniello), the film is shot in the style of hit TV shows Pawn Stars and Hardcore Pawn.

The Emmy awards ceremony takes place on the Monday 25 August.
