London-based advertising agency Grey London has announced the promotion of former executive creative director Nils Leonard to chairman. The news follows Leonard’s role as an industry leader recognised by D&AD. Leonard joined the agency in 2007 and since taking the reins as executive creative director in 2009 has overseen the most profitable and awarded years in the agency’s 52 years. Under Leonard’s lead the agency has doubled in size and picked up numerous accolades, including the Cannes Black Lion for its work on The British Heart Foundation, and was named one of D&AD’s most awarded agencies in 2014.
