Young Director Award Deadline Extension
Information on the CFP-E/shots Young Director Award deadline extension and 2015 party is here.
As we reported last month, the annual CFP-E/shots Young Director Award will be changing its format next year but, as far as this year goes, there’s still time to enter the 2015 competition as the deadline has been extended to May 31.
President of the YDA, Francois Chilot, is evolving the YDA formula, which will be rolled out in 2016, and which will allow entrants to show off their directing skills in a wider range of filmic disciplines.

“We are re-shaping the YDA using the basis of the last 17 years," explained Chilot. "Not to change it, but to add to it. We will be encompassing all filmic means and platforms, apart from features, to better reflect the way that advertising itself has evolved. We want to allow the directors who enter the YDA to be able to express themselves and confront the challenges that the three pillars of the communication industry (marketers, agencies and producers) face.”
The details of next year's YDA will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.

Meanwhile, this year’s competition is underway with two weeks to go before entries are closed. The winners will be announced at Cannes during a beach party ceremony at Long Beach, on the Croisette, at 6.00 to 8.30pm on June 25.
The rules of entry for the 2015 YDA, as well as the entry form can be found here.
The shortlist will be announced on the YDA website during the week of June 15. The winners will be revealed the following week at the lavish beach party where a selection of the winning work will be showcased.
