Volvo has launched a new brand film through agency Grey London featuring Swedish conductor Marie Rosenmir as the lead and set to a score by award-winning composer, Tom Player, known for his work on The Hobbit and Game of Thrones.
Shot by British photographic/filmmaking collective Leila and Damien de Blinkk, the piece draws parallels with the craftsmanship of the V40 and the fine details of a symphony orchestra while taking us out on the open road of Gothenburg, the home of the brand, to enforce the message.
"The V40 boasts lots of lovely, intricate design details, which in isolation may not seem particularly significant but when combined create an incredibly satisfying overall experience," considers creative director, Andy Lockley. "We likened this to a really moving piece of music performed by an orchestra – each small component playing an important part in the overall piece."
It's the second time Grey has heroed a female driver in a category dominated by men. The other being The Swell, in 2014, below.
