San Francisco-based VFX company, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), a division of Lucasfilm, has announced the appointment of Oscar and BAFTA-winning visual effects supervisor, Eric Barba, to the company’s Vancouver studio as creative director. Having served as CCO of Digital Domain for the past two years, Barba has been a VFX supervisor with the company since 1999. He supervised VFX on David Fincher’s Zodiac, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button for which he was honoured with an Oscar and a BAFTA Film Award for Outstanding Visual Effects, as well as two Visual Effects Society Awards.
