London production company Dark Energy has signed director Simon Levene to its roster for UK representation.
Levene, who has spent the past few years working in Australia, the US and France, has directed commercials, short films and documentaries, as well as writing screenplays and is currently embarking on his first novel.
His directing work has earned him awards at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Kinsale Shark Awards and over 20 international film festivals finalist status, with his short film Shoreditch Slayer winning best film at the Irish Science Fiction awards. Most recently Levene has worked on projects for McDonalds, Virgin Games and Burger King.
“It's good to be back working in the UK," says Levene. "Hopefully you take the best from wherever you go and then incorporate what you have learnt back home. I’m definitely a better director for working in all these different territories.”
