5. Egg 1 - 0 Kylie Jenner

There are many important events taking place in the world today. Events that will have a lasting impact on lives around the globe but, surely, none as important as the news that Kylie Jenner's image of her newborn baby grasping her finger - until very recently, the most liked image ever uploaded to Instagram - has been beaten by... an egg. Yep, just a plain old egg. You might think this warrants no attention whatsoever, The Guardian is one newspaper that would disagree. Maybe

4. Nike's next step in laceless technology

Nike has launched a new version of its self-lacing trainers which are controlled via a smartphone. The self-lacing technology was first seen in Back to the Future II and at that time (1989) was exclusive to the stuff of sci-fi films. However, Nike launched a real world version in 2016 which has a physical button on the footwear. This, as the BBC website reports, is the nexrt step forward. The shoe, called the Nike Adapt, will cost $350 and goes on sale next month.

3. Chatbot set to fight Super Bowl sex trafficking

As adland gears up for Super Bowl LIII next month, the Independent has revealed a seedier side to the big game - the targeting and exploitation of vulnerable schoolchildren in the Atlanta area by opportunistic sex traffickers. Alongside undercover operations raids and educational campaigns, the FBI has turned to AI to tackle the problem. 'Gracie' might not sound like the most formidable asset in the fight against sexual predators, but she's actually a clever chatbot who will be deployed to lure in paedophiles online.

2. Who you gonna call?... Jason Reitman

Just when we were starting to forget who we were gonna call, so comes along another glimpse at the famous Ecto 1 and our favourite ghoul-catchers. However, this isn’t your normal fan-baiting, fleeting, ghostbusting appearance of the like seen in Comparethemarket, Halifax and Walmart ads. Instead, Sony Pictures and Jason Reitman (son of Ghostbusters 1 & 2 director Ivan) have gone and dropped news of a fully-fledged sequel to the original cult movies.

As reported in Entertainment Weekly, the film looks to eschew the reimagined characters and setting of the not-exactly-welcomed-with-open-arms 2016 reboot and instead become “the next chapter in the original franchise”, with Reitman Jr maintaining “what happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.” With a teaser already released and a Summer 2020 slot reserved, all that’s needed are the proton packs charging and Rick Moranis brought out of retirement.
