Blinkink signs three

Directors Robert Hunter and Stevie Gee & Essy May have signed to Blinkink's roster.

Already an established illustrator with a client list ranging from the V&A to Guinness, Hunter has made the transition to moving images with a contemporary take on classic 2D animation. He brought to life the characters from Rudyard Kipling’s classic The Jungle Book for an illustrated book, recently co-directed a music video for Jon Hopkins with fellow Blinkink director Elliot Dear and has created a set of animated visuals for Elbow's album Little Fictions.

Gee and May's individual careers as illustrators, meanwhile, have brought D&AD Pencils, album covers and sci-fi comics to the duo’s mantelpiece, prompting them to venture into the world of filmmaking. Their directorial debut was a music video for heavy metal behemoths Mastodon, followed by spots for Channel 4 and Stand Up to Cancer.
