With 95 per cent of the planet’s oceans unexplored, Surfers Against Sewage -  an environmental charity protecting the UK’s oceans and beaches - wants to highlight the threat of plastic pollution to the many marine species that are yet to be uncovered, as well as those that are already known to be dying as a result of man’s actions.

This powerful short film, directed by Park Pictures' Tom Tagholm, follows the discovery of a giant, whale-like animal (built full scale by Anarchy Ltd and augmented/animated by MPC London) that has washed ashore on a remote UK beach.

Shot in the style of a documentary, the film chronicles the creature's last hours in interviews with locals, beach users and marine biologists as they battle in vain to save its life. It's a powerful reminder that by treating our sea as a ‘single-use ocean’, we're destroying what could be down in the deep without even being aware of it.
