Ever had an Uber-ride nightmare in which your driver’s head morphs from a buffalo, to Walter White in Breaking Bad’s alter ego Heisenberg, to a grinning Mickey Mouse-alike, by way of a cactussy/rabbit, a head of corn, a sunflower and a teapot?
If not, this fabulous promo, Comte, is what that fevered dream might look like. Alphabets Heaven’s eclectic mix of bassy electronica with Latin beats lends itself nicely to this engagingly kooky blend of 2D animation, painting, cut-outs and live-action footage all designed, animated and directed by Russian artist Natalia Ryss.
So buckle up and head off across the wilderness with your shape-shifting guide, but be warned, things get a little noir when he hits the metropolis.
