Parry Thrusts with Passion Pictures for Global Representation

Director Adam Parry has joined London-based Passion Pictures for worldwide representation.
His work encompasses graphics, typography, animation and live-action His first project for Passion (on which he collaborated with art director Lee Hempstock) was a multimedia event for Burberry for the launch of its new flagship store in Beijing. The groundbreaking experiential piece placed live models against animated footage and life-like holograms, and the content was choreographed and designed across more than 20 screens. Parry says that Terry Gilliam's collage and cut-out animations for Monty Python were an early inspiration for his work. "They set a light off in my head that still burns to this day," he says. "It was a realisation that animation and design could be anything, using any format and medium." He went on to study the London College of Communication (formerly the London College of Printing) in the early '90s with a quest to learn all he could about emerging digital technologies.
After graduating he worked on TV commercials and broadcast graphics in Hamburg and Amsterdam, using Flame. From 2000 to 2008 he led the in house design department at Framestore, working on a range of high profile TV, film and new media projects. From there he spent two years as Creative Director for the London office of Superfad.
"Being involved from the inception of a project is what I enjoy most – informing and shaping its direction," he says. "At Passion Pictures I'll be looking for projects that allow me to explore new technologies and techniques, but also those allowing me to re-explore more traditional techniques and reinterpret them in unexpected ways."
