It’s h-amazing how a large, glazed, magic gammon can bring folk together during the holidays.
This enchanting ad, The Miracle Ham, directed by Hamish Rothwell through Good Oil, sees a sweet old lady discover that her freshly cooked ham has self-replenishing powers, so there’ll be enough to feed the whole village.
When she first tries to share her bounty with a rival old lady, she’s met with face you could chop wood on followed by a slammed door.
Undeterred, she marches round her characterful neighbourhood, ham held high, dolling out the tasty slices until a huge al fresco feast comes together.
Her rival is unable to scupper the joyful occasion – despite her best ham-hurling efforts – and eventually joins in the fun. Leading us nicely to BMF’s longstanding creative message for the brand, 'The More the Merrier'.
BMF Creative Directors, Dantie van der Merwe and David Fraser said: “Ham is often the main event at Christmas lunch. And, in the week after, every time you open the fridge there seems to be ham leftovers staring back at you. A pork prodigy felt like the right blend of truth and fiction for this year’s More the Merrier Christmas story.”
