Created by Droga5 London and directed by Steve Rogers through Somesuch x Revolver/Will O'Rourke, this Super Bowl spot sees DeGeneres wonder to her wife, Portia de Rossi, how people coped pre-Alexa.
That question prompts a series of brilliantly ludicrous flashbacks in which characters, each of which has a variations of the name Alexa, are asked to perform different tasks.
So, among other things, a maid asked to turn the temperature down does so in a highly unconventional manner; Elizabeth I commands a woefully inadequate court jester to tell a joke, and a fairytale princess sends a message to her prince, with unsatisfactory results.
