The iconic Argos catalogue takes centre stage in the The&Partnership's 2019 Christmas campaign, which launched today.
As one of the first major retailers out of the festive gate, the pressure is on, but the campaign doesn't fail to impress with its epic, fun-loving feel and a cracking soundtrack to boot.
Directed by Traktor through Stink Films, the campaign celebrates the long-standing tradition of circling your most-wanted gifts in the Argos catalogue. While the catalogue has been a firm fixture with families for the last 46 years, it’s been absent from Argos’s most significant annual TV advertisement for the past decade. This year, however, the Christmas edition of the catalogue, renamed The Book of Dreams, plays a starring role.
The near-three-minute film features a dad whose childhood dreams are awoken when he sees a drum kit his daughter has circled in the Argos catalogue.
From there, it's Simple Minds’ 80s classic, Don’t You Forget About Me, a kitchen that turns into a stage, a drumming daughter and a crowd-surfing teddy bear. All the ingredients for a classic Christmas campaign.
