Filled with visual flourishes and delicious audio, Mikros MPC's Bagarre is as much a well-choreographed proof-of-concept as it is a short film.
Directed by Bounty Banana and Jao M'Changama, and set to music by 20syl, the film uses a wide range of visual effects, 2D and 3D animation, FX, and motion design to create a world that is part-anime, part-videogame and part-John Woo.
With most of the project - the script, fight choreography, and creative direction - conceived by phone, this well-executed mixtape of martial arts is an atmospheric and thrilling three minutes.
